MannVenture vs Squarespace
Squarespace makes the most beautiful DIY sites there are. Beautiful is not the same thing as answered.
Okanagan Wedding Co., built and run on this system.
The short answer
Squarespace builds you a beautiful website you run yourself, from $25 USD/mo billed monthly. Ours is $97 CAD a month plus a one-time $497, written and built for you, and its AI answers the visitor's question, quotes the work and books the job while you are on the tools. If your site's job is to look exceptional and your enquiries can wait for your desk hours, buy Squarespace.
What Squarespace actually is
Squarespace is the design-led DIY platform: templates good enough that agencies have spent years imitating them, a Blueprint AI that drafts a site for you to finish, and a product list that runs from commerce to scheduling to email.
The pricing is public and in US dollars: Basic at $25 USD/mo billed monthly, or $228 USD a year, paid annually, Core at $39 USD/mo billed monthly, up to Advanced at $139 USD/mo billed monthly. There is no free plan; every site starts on a 14-day trial.
It is a genuinely beautiful product, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise.
Sources: squarespace.com/pricing (embedded offer data) and Squarespace's published product list, checked 24 July 2026. Those are US-dollar prices, published by their owners in US dollars. Ours are in Canadian dollars and exclude tax. We have not converted anything: a converted total is a number nobody published. There is no phone, voice or call-answering item anywhere on that published product list, which is the whole difference this page is about. Scheduling books the customer who already decided; it does not answer the one who is still asking.
Where Squarespace beats us
Four of them, and none of them has a “but” attached.
Design.
Squarespace templates are the best-looking starting point in the category, full stop. If the site's job is to be a portfolio or a brand statement, this is their home turf.
Price.
$25 USD/mo billed monthly, or $228 USD a year, paid annually, against $97 CAD a month plus an implementation fee. Not close.
The ecosystem.
Commerce, invoicing, scheduling, email campaigns, domains and member areas, all in one account. If you want one login for everything and enjoy running it, it is genuinely well built.
Brand trust.
Years of polish and every podcast ad you have ever heard. Nobody gets fired for choosing Squarespace.
The same job, priced two ways
Sources: squarespace.com/pricing (embedded offer data), checked 24 July 2026. Those are US-dollar prices, published by their owners in US dollars. Ours are in Canadian dollars and exclude tax. We have not converted anything: a converted total is a number nobody published. We have put our own gap in the last row because you were going to find it anyway.
A beautiful site that waits, and a plain-spoken one that replies
Design decides whether a visitor trusts you. What happens in the next ninety seconds decides whether they book you.
The old way: a form waits
No reply yet. Typical response: 1 to 2 business days.
Your site: the AI answers
Do you have a photographer free for August 16?
Full day, please.
Done. I have held August 16 and texted the details to the owner.
Booked · Aug 16, full day
The site we built for Okanagan Wedding Co. is live, and it is a wedding décor company, so it had to look the part too. Open it, judge the design, then ask its agent a question and watch the difference this page is about.
What each one costs over three years
Squarespace, Basic
$684USD over three years
$228 USD a year, paid annually is $228 USD a year, with no implementation fee, and the same again in years two and three. The design hours are yours and are not on the invoice.
AI Website
$3,989CAD over three years
$497 once plus $97 CAD a month is $1,661 CAD in year one, then $97 a month after that, with the writing, the build and the running included.
Sources: squarespace.com/pricing (embedded offer data), checked 24 July 2026. Those are US-dollar prices, published by their owners in US dollars. Ours are in Canadian dollars and exclude tax. We have not converted anything: a converted total is a number nobody published.
Those totals are $684 USD and $3,989 CAD over the same three years, each in the currency its owner publishes in. The question is whether the enquiries that go unanswered while a beautiful site waits are worth the gap between them.
Buy Squarespace if this is you
Squarespace is the right buy when
- The site is a portfolio or a brand statement, and looking exceptional is the whole job.
- You enjoy design and want your hands on every pixel.
- Your enquiries come by form or email and you answer them at your desk.
- You sell online and want commerce, invoicing and email in one account.
- The budget is genuinely under fifty dollars a month.
Ours is the right buy when
- Your phone rings while your hands are full and you find out hours later.
- You have lost work to whoever called back first.
- You do not want to be the person who designs and maintains the site.
- The visitor's first question is what does it cost, and somebody should answer it.
If you read the left column and recognised yourself, buy Squarespace. We would rather you did that than pay us for something you do not need yet.
The questions this comparison raises
Because you are buying different amounts of work. Squarespace sells you a beautiful toolkit you operate: you pick the template, write the pages, and keep it current. Ours includes a person writing your pages, building the site, training the agent on your services and prices, and running it after launch, with two edits a month and a monthly report card. The gap is the labour, plus a thing their product list does not have, which is anything that talks back to a customer.
No, and the difference matters. Blueprint AI helps you build the site: their own page says "Yes, the Blueprint AI Builder is free to use, although you need a paid Squarespace account to publish any website you create with the Blueprint AI Builder." It is a drafting tool, and a good one. Our AI is on the site after launch, talking to your visitors: it answers the 9:40 PM question, quotes the range you set, and books the job. One builds a brochure faster; the other works the leads the brochure attracts.
It is, and it works well for the visitor who has already decided. Scheduling is a calendar the decided customer books themselves into. What it does not do is answer the question that comes before the decision: what does this cost, can you do my kind of job, are you available that week. That conversation is where jobs are won, and it is the part our agent does.
Yes. The AI Receptionist is $97 CAD a month plus a one-time $297, works with any website, and the comparison against the other answering options is on our answering service page.
Squarespace has no free plan; their pricing page says "Squarespace doesn't offer a free plan, but every site starts with a free trial—no credit card required." and annual plans are the discounted path. Ours is One-year term, billed monthly. At the end of the year it renews for another twelve months at the then-current rate, unless you tell us before it does. If you leave before the term is up, early termination is 3 months of the monthly subscription: $291 CAD at $97 a month. The one-time implementation fee covers work already delivered and is not refunded. Theirs is cheaper to walk away from; ours tells you the walk-away number before you start.
Seen enough, or want to look first?
If the fork above put you on our side, the next step is the order page: the whole price, the guarantee and the term, said once more before you commit to anything. If you want to look first, okanaganwed.com is a live customer site running on the same system, and the other comparisons are one click away.
$497 CAD to start, then $97/mo on a one-year term.
