MannVenture vs Wix

Wix hands you the best DIY toolkit in the business. Ours hands you a finished site that answers, quotes and books while you work.

Okanagan Wedding Co., built and run on this system.

The short answer

Wix sells you the tools; we sell you the finished front office. Wix's Canadian prices run from $0 CAD to $44 CAD/mo billed yearly for the plan it recommends, and its editor is the one everything else gets measured against. Our AI Website is $97 CAD a month plus a one-time $497, built and written for you, and its AI works the leads while you are on the job. If you enjoy building your own site and the phone is not your problem, buy Wix.

What Wix actually is

Wix is the biggest DIY website platform there is, and its AI builder's own promise is “Go from a prompt to a business-ready website”. You describe the business, it drafts the site, and you finish it in their editor, by hand or with their AI agents.

The Canadian pricing is public: a free plan on a wixsite.com address, then $21 CAD/mo billed yearly, $33 CAD/mo billed yearly, $44 CAD/mo billed yearly, and $165 CAD/mo billed yearly at the top. The page's own terms: “Displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions, paid in full at the time of purchase.”

That is a genuinely capable platform at a genuinely low price, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise.

Where Wix beats us

Four of them, and none of them has a “but” attached.

Price.

$21 CAD/mo billed yearly at the bottom of the ladder against $97 CAD a month is not a close call. Even the Business plan, at $44 CAD/mo billed yearly, is less than half our monthly.

A free tier.

You can have a Wix site today for nothing, on a wixsite.com address, with Wix branding on it. We have no free tier.

Creative control.

The Wix editor and its app market are the most complete DIY toolkit in the business. If you enjoy building and running your own site, nothing we sell competes with that feeling.

Prices in Canadian dollars.

Wix localizes its Canadian storefront, so the number on the page is the number in your currency. Most of the builders in this category quote USD.

Wix built a phone agent. Here is the fine print.

Alone in this category, Wix ships a first-party AI phone agent. Their help center describes it plainly: “Alfred, your AI Phone Agent, answers calls for your business 24/7 and lets you know when a caller needs follow-up. It can take messages, send SMS links after calls, and notify you when a caller mentions something important.

The same help center states the availability: “The Phone Agent is currently only available in English to Wix users in the US”. It also needs a paid site plan, and no price for the agent itself is published. For a business in British Columbia, that means the phone still rings unanswered today.

Ours answers a real BC number right now. Call 236-500-MANN and you are talking to it.

The same job, priced two ways

Wix, FreeCost:$0 CADWhat you get:A live site on a wixsite.com address, built with their AI or by handWhat it does not do:Wix branding stays on the site, and the phone agent needs a paid plan, in the US
Wix, LightCost:$21 CAD/mo billed yearlyWhat you get:Your own domain, hosting, the AI creation tools, 24/7 customer careWhat it does not do:You build it, you write it, you run it. Nobody answers your phone in Canada.
Wix, BusinessCost:$44 CAD/mo billed yearlyWhat you get:The same, plus ecommerce and their recommended tier for a growing brandWhat it does not do:Still yours to build and run, and the phone agent is still US-only
AI WebsiteCost:$497 CAD to start, then $97/mo on a one-year term. What you get:A 5-7 page site written and built for you, whose AI answers questions, quotes ranges and books jobs, with 200 AI conversations a month includedWhat it does not do:It does not answer your phone either. That is the AI Receptionist, $97 CAD a month, and it answers a BC number today.

Sources: wix.com/plans and Wix's help center, Managing the Phone Agent, checked 24 July 2026. Both columns are in Canadian dollars for once: Wix localizes its Canadian storefront. Wix figures are yearly subscriptions paid up front; ours bill monthly. We have put our own gap in the last row because you were going to find it anyway.

What each one costs over three years

Wix, Business

$1,584CAD over three years

$44 CAD/mo billed yearly is $528 CAD a year, paid up front, with no implementation fee, and the same again in years two and three. Your own time to build and run it is the number Wix does not print.

AI Website

$3,989CAD over three years

$497 once plus $97 CAD a month is $1,661 CAD in year one, then $97 a month after that, with the building, the writing and the running included.

Sources: wix.com/plans (Canadian storefront), checked 24 July 2026.

Same currency, same three years: $1,584 against $3,989. The question is whether the hours you would spend running a Wix site, and the calls nobody answers while you are on the tools, are worth the gap.

Buy Wix if this is you

Wix is the right buy when

  • You enjoy building and running your own site, and you are good at it.
  • The budget is genuinely under fifty dollars a month.
  • You are testing whether the business is real before spending on it.
  • Your enquiries come by form or email and you answer them at your desk.
  • You are in the US and want to try their phone agent when it reaches you.

Ours is the right buy when

  • Your phone rings while your hands are full and you find out hours later.
  • You have lost work to whoever called back first.
  • The site keeps not getting built because your evenings keep not being free.
  • You are in BC and want the phone answered today, not when a US feature ships here.

If you read the left column and recognised yourself, buy Wix. We would rather you did that than pay us for something you do not need yet.

The questions this comparison raises

Because you are buying different amounts of work. Wix is software you operate: you build it, write it, and keep it current, and the better it is, the more of your evenings it took. Ours includes a person writing your pages, building the site, training the agent on your services and prices, and running it after launch, with two edits a month and a monthly report card. The price gap is the labour.

It does, and credit where due: Alfred answers calls 24/7 and takes messages. Two things to check before you count on it. Wix's own help center says "The Phone Agent is currently only available in English to Wix users in the US", so a BC business cannot put it on a line today, and no price for it is published. Ours answers a real BC number right now: call 236-500-MANN and it picks up. If Wix ships Alfred in Canada with a public price, this page will compare them properly.

Yes, and for some owners that is the right combination. The AI Receptionist is $97 CAD a month plus a one-time $297, works with any website, and the comparison against the other answering options is on our answering service page.

We rebuild on your existing domain, so your address, email and Google history carry over, and the old site stays up until the new one replaces it. Your domain is yours either way; if you are on a free wixsite.com address you will need your own domain, which we set up.

Wix's displayed prices are yearly subscriptions paid in full at the time of purchase, with a 14-day money-back guarantee. Ours is One-year term, billed monthly. At the end of the year it renews for another twelve months at the then-current rate, unless you tell us before it does. If you leave before the term is up, early termination is 3 months of the monthly subscription: $291 CAD at $97 a month. The one-time implementation fee covers work already delivered and is not refunded. Both are year-shaped commitments; the differences are that ours bills monthly rather than up front, and states the exit number in advance.

Seen enough, or want to look first?

If the fork above put you on our side, the next step is the order page: the whole price, the guarantee and the term, said once more before you commit to anything. If you want to look first, okanaganwed.com is a live customer site running on the same system, and the other comparisons are one click away.
